Instructions
Step 1: Combine and Heat
- Combine 2 qts apple cider, 1 1/2 qts cranberry juice, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 1/2 tsp whole cloves, 4 3” cinnamon sticks, and 1 lemon slices in a large kettle or stockpot.
Step 2: Simmer and Serve
- Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a boil and the sugar is dissolved.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let the cider simmer for 15 to 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld until fragrant.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove and discard the spices and cooked lemon slices.
- Serve warm in mugs until comforting and piping hot. If desired, float a fresh lemon slice in each cup as a garnish.
