Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Crust

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch glass baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the 1 cup Bisquick, ⅓ cup milk, and 2 tablespoons mayonnaise to form a soft dough. Press this evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.

Step 2: Cook the Filling

  1. In a skillet, cook the 1 lb. sausage and ½ cup chopped onion over medium heat until the sausage is browned and the onion is soft and fragrant. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Spread the cooked sausage and onion mixture evenly over the Bisquick crust.

Step 3: Add Topping and Bake

  1. In a separate bowl, beat the 1 egg with the remaining 2 tablespoons mayonnaise. Stir in the 2 cups grated cheese and the 2 (4 oz) cans drained green chilies.
  2. Carefully spread this cheese and egg mixture over the sausage layer.
  3. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly and the center is set. Let cool for a few minutes before cutting into 24 squares to serve.
