Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Crust
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch glass baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the 1 cup Bisquick, ⅓ cup milk, and 2 tablespoons mayonnaise to form a soft dough. Press this evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
Step 2: Cook the Filling
- In a skillet, cook the 1 lb. sausage and ½ cup chopped onion over medium heat until the sausage is browned and the onion is soft and fragrant. Drain off any excess grease.
- Spread the cooked sausage and onion mixture evenly over the Bisquick crust.
Step 3: Add Topping and Bake
- In a separate bowl, beat the 1 egg with the remaining 2 tablespoons mayonnaise. Stir in the 2 cups grated cheese and the 2 (4 oz) cans drained green chilies.
- Carefully spread this cheese and egg mixture over the sausage layer.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly and the center is set. Let cool for a few minutes before cutting into 24 squares to serve.
