As NeededHamburger, lean Pork, or Round Steak
As NeededCrisco or other fat
1 tablespoonFlour (per tbsp of grease)
To TasteRed Chili Powder
As NeededWater
To TasteGarlic
To TasteSalt and Pepper
To TasteOregano

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger, lean pork, or round steak. Add Crisco if needed to make a generous 2 tablespoons of grease in the pan.
  2. Add flour to thicken (1 tbsp flour to 1 tbsp grease).
  3. Stir and cook on very low heat (don’t burn!).
  4. Add some red chili powder to taste.
  5. Stir in water to make a “gravy.”
  6. Cook and stir, adding garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano to taste.
  7. Cook for a long time.

The recipe card cheekily adds: “Better yet! buy Baca’s Frozen Chili!”
