| Measurements | Ingredients |

| 2 cups | Peeled Potatoes - Chopped |
| 1/2 cup | Sliced Carrots |
| 1/2 cup | Sliced Celery |
| 1/4 cup | Chopped Onion |
| 2 cups | Boiling Water |
| 1/4 cup | Margarine |
| 1/4 cup | Flour |
| 1/2 teaspoon | Salt |
| 1/4 teaspoon | Pepper |
| 2 cups | Milk |
| 2 cups | Grated Cheddar Cheese |
| 1 cup | Ham - Chopped |
Instructions
- Mix veggies with boiling water in saucepan.
- Simmer covered for 15 minutes.
- Set aside.
- Melt margarine in large saucepan.
- Stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
- Whisk in milk.
- Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Stir in cheese until melted.
- Add veggies with their cooking liquid.
- Add ham.
- Heat just to serving temperature, stirring occasionally.
- Do not boil.
