| 3/4 cup | Whipping Cream |
| 1/3 cup | Sugar |
| 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) | Unsalted Butter |
| 3 tablespoons | Irish Whiskey |
| 4 ounces | Coarsely chopped Semisweet Chocolate |
| 2 ounces | Unsweetened Chocolate |
| 1 teaspoon | Vanilla Extract |
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the cream, sugar, and butter over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until it has slightly thickened, about 4 minutes.
- Add the whiskey and simmer for 4 more minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Add both the semisweet and unsweetened chocolates, along with the vanilla extract.
- Mix until the sauce is completely smooth.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Note
This sauce can be prepared one day ahead. Cover and refrigerate. To serve, rewarm it gently over low heat.
