Instructions
- For the cranberry sauce: Combine package of cranberries, 2 cups of water, 2 cups of sugar in a pot.
- Cook for at least one-half hour or until all berries are cooked.
- Ten minutes before the cranberries are done cooking, add the grated rind of one-half of an orange to the pot with the cranberries.
- For the apple sauce (if making from scratch, Stark’s Delicious Apples recommended): Cook apples separately. Add a cup of water (or as desired for consistency) and one-half teaspoon of cinnamon to the apples. Cook on low flame until soft. (Alternatively, the letter mentions using McIntosh apples for the applesauce.)
- Cool the cooked cranberries and the apple sauce.
- Once cooled, mix the cranberry sauce and apple sauce together.
Note
Hope I don’t make this recipe complicated! Forget! I always use McIntosh apples.
