2 PackagesChopped Broccoli, thawed and squeezed dry
1/4 CupChopped Onion
6 TablespoonsButter (divided)
2 TeaspoonsFlour
1/2 CupWater
1 (8 oz) JarCheez Whiz
3Eggs, Well Beaten
1/2 CupCracker Crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a casserole dish.
  2. Thaw the broccoli and squeeze it in a towel to get it as dry as possible.
  3. Make the Sauce: In a saucepan, sauté the chopped onion in four tablespoons of butter until tender.
  4. Stir in the flour. Gradually add the water, stirring to create a smooth, thick sauce.
  5. Add the Cheez Whiz and stir over low heat until melted.
  6. Assemble: In a large bowl, combine the cheese sauce, the well-drained broccoli, and the well-beaten eggs.
  7. Pour the mixture into the greased casserole dish.
  8. Make the Topping: Melt the remaining two tablespoons of butter and toss with the cracker crumbs.
  9. Sprinkle the buttered crumbs over the top of the casserole.
  10. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 350°F, or until set.
