A classic layered “Company Casserole” that’s perfect for making ahead. It features a rich meat sauce and a creamy cheese filling between layers of noodles.

| 1 Pound | Ground Beef |
| 1 Tablespoon | Fat or Oil |
| 2 Cans (8 Ounces each) | Tomato Sauce |
| 1/2 Pound | Cottage Cheese |
| 1 Package (8 Ounces) | Cream Cheese, softened |
| 1/4 Cup | Commercial Sour Cream |
| 1/3 Cup | Minced Onion |
| 1 Tablespoon | Minced Green Pepper |
| 2 Tablespoons | Melted Butter |
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a casserole dish.
- Cook & drain noodles according to package directions.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef in fat; drain. Stir in the tomato sauce.
- In a separate bowl, combine the cottage cheese, softened cream cheese, sour cream, minced onion, and minced green pepper. Mix well.
- In the casserole dish, create layers:
- Half of the noodles.
- Half of the meat sauce.
- All of the cheese mixture.
- The remaining noodles.
- The remaining meat sauce.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
- Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.
Note
Serves 8. This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
