1 packageCooked Macaroni (approx. 16 oz)
As NeededTomatoes and/or Tomato Paste
”Lots” (approx. 1 lb)Velveeta cheese, cubed
1Chopped Onion

Instructions (Clarified Method)

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large casserole dish.
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package directions. Drain.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the hamburger with the chopped onion and seasonings. Drain off the grease.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, the meat mixture, tomatoes (and/or tomato paste), and most of the Velveeta cheese.
  5. Pour the mixture into the casserole dish and top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes (“Bake slowly”) until hot and bubbly.

Note

The card suggests several variations:

  • White version: Use cream of mushroom soup instead of tomato.
  • Flavor additions: Add chili powder, celery, or bell pepper as a flavor or filler.
