Instructions (Clarified Method)
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large casserole dish.
- Cook the macaroni according to package directions. Drain.
- In a large skillet, brown the hamburger with the chopped onion and seasonings. Drain off the grease.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, the meat mixture, tomatoes (and/or tomato paste), and most of the Velveeta cheese.
- Pour the mixture into the casserole dish and top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes (“Bake slowly”) until hot and bubbly.
Note
The card suggests several variations:
- White version: Use cream of mushroom soup instead of tomato.
