A classic, savory bread and cheese casserole, also known as a strata. Layers of buttered bread and grated cheese are baked in a rich, seasoned egg and milk custard. A perfect brunch or side dish.

| 8 slices | White Bread |
| 2 c. | Grated Cheese |
| 4 | Eggs, slightly beaten |
| 1/3 c. | Butter, softened |
| 3 c. | Milk |
| 1 1/2 t. | Salt |
| 1/8 t. | Dry Mustard |
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Spread bread with butter and cut each slice into 4 pieces.
- Alternate layers of cheese and bread in a baking dish, making sure that the cheese is on top.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, eggs (slightly beaten), and seasonings (salt, dry mustard).
- Pour this mixture over the cheese and bread.
- Bake in a slow oven (about 325°F) for approximately 40 minutes.
