A wonderfully easy and decadent dessert, these bars feature a sweet cream cheese filling baked between two layers of flaky crescent dough.

2 cansCrescent Rolls
2 (8 oz) pkgsCream Cheese, softened
1 cupSugar
1Egg, separated
1 teaspoonVanilla

Icing

MeasurementsIngredients
1 cupPowdered Sugar
2 tablespoonsMilk
Few dropsVanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a 9x13 inch dish.
  2. Unroll one can of crescent rolls and press into the bottom of the dish, pinching the seams together.
  3. In a bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Spread this mixture over the bottom crust.
  4. Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and place it on top, pinching the seams and sides to seal.
  5. Lightly beat the reserved egg white and brush it over the top layer.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let the dessert cool completely.
  8. For the icing, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and a few drops of vanilla. Drizzle over the cooled bars.

Note

The recipe requires two cans of crescent rolls, one for the bottom crust and one for the top.
