Recipe
| Measurements | Ingredients |
|---|---|
| One (3 oz) Package | Lime Jello |
| One (8 oz) Package | Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened |
| 1 Can | Drained Half Pears (about 8 halves) |
| As Needed | Maraschino Cherries (to decorate) |
| One Teaspoon | Oil |
Instructions
- Prepare the Lime Jello according to package directions. Stir in one teaspoon of oil.
- Pour a thin layer of the liquid Jello into a mold. Place the mold and the remaining Jello in the refrigerator.
- When the Jello in the mold has thickened slightly, arrange the pear halves (cut-side up) and cherries in it. Return to the refrigerator to set completely firm.
- Allow the remaining Jello in the bowl to set completely firm as well.
- Once the Jello in the bowl is firm, beat it with an electric mixer until fluffy.
- Add the softened cream cheese and beat until well blended.
- Pour the fluffy cream cheese mixture on top of the firm fruit layer in the mold.
- Let set overnight. Unmold to serve.
Note
The teaspoon of oil is an old trick to help the Jello release from the mold more easily. Chilling overnight is recommended for the best results.
