3/4 CupShortening
1 CupBrown Sugar, packed
2Eggs
1/3 CupMilk
3 CupsOats
1 CupRaisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Grease your cookie sheets.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the shortening and brown sugar together with an electric mixer. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, sift or whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. On low speed, add half of the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix.
  5. Beat in the milk until combined, then add the remaining dry ingredients and mix well.
  6. By hand, stir in the oats and raisins.
  7. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
