1 ½ CupsM&M Candies, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the vanilla and the eggs.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  6. By hand, stir in ½ cup of the M&M candies.
  7. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. Press the remaining 1 cup of M&M candies onto the tops of the cookies for decoration.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
