¾ CupButter, softened
½ CupBrown Sugar, packed
2 CupsFlour
1 Package (6-12 oz)Chocolate Bits (Chocolate Chips)
½ CupChopped Nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and flour. Mix with a pastry blender or your hands until a crumbly dough forms.
  3. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into an ungreased 10x15 inch jelly roll pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the hot base. Let them sit for 3-5 minutes to melt.
  6. Use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate into a smooth, even layer.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the melted chocolate.
  8. While the bars are still warm, cut them into 1 ½ inch squares. Let them cool completely in the pan before removing.
