Instructions
- Finely crush the vanilla wafers using a food processor or by placing them in a bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Finely chop the nuts.
- In a large bowl, combine the finely crushed vanilla wafers, chopped nuts, honey, brandy, and light rum.
- Mix well with a sturdy spoon or your hands until a sticky, firm dough forms.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls.
- Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat them completely.
- Wrap the balls individually in wax paper or store them in airtight containers.
Note
The recipe card specifies to “use Keebler Vanilla Wafers” and notes that the balls will keep for about 1 month. The flavor improves significantly after they have aged for a few days.
