A quick and easy stovetop recipe for classic candied walnuts. The nuts are toasted in a buttery glaze of brown sugar and cinnamon for a simple, addictive treat.

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar begins to dissolve.
  4. Add the walnuts to the pan and stir continuously for 3-4 minutes, until the nuts are well-coated and fragrant.
  5. Using a slotted spoon, quickly remove the walnuts from the pan and spread them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet to cool.
  6. Allow them to cool for at least 1 hour until the sugar coating is hard. Break apart any clusters that may have formed.

Note

The original recipe card did not specify an amount for brown sugar. 1/2 cup has been added, which is a standard ratio for this quantity of nuts and will create a nice, even glaze.
