Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease your baking sheets.
- In a large bowl, sift the dry ingredients together (flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and sugar).
- Cut the shortening into the dry ingredients until crumbly.
- In a small bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla. Add this to the flour mixture and mix well.
- Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the greased baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
