3 CupsFlour
2 tsp.Cream of tartar
1 tsp.Baking Soda
1/2 tsp.Salt
1 C.Sugar
1 C.Shortening
2Eggs
1 tsp.Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease your baking sheets.
  2. In a large bowl, sift the dry ingredients together (flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and sugar).
  3. Cut the shortening into the dry ingredients until crumbly.
  4. In a small bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla. Add this to the flour mixture and mix well.
  5. Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the greased baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
