| Measurements | Ingredients |
|---|---|
| 1 Loaf | Favorite Bread (Roll, Bagel, Sour Dough, Wheat, etc.) |
| ½ Cup (1 stick) | Margarine or Butter, melted |
| 1 Cup | Parmesan Grated Cheese |
Instructions
- Freeze Bread: For best results, freeze your loaf of bread until it is firm. This makes it much easier to slice thinly.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to a low temperature, between 225-250°F.
- Slice Bread: Using an electric knife or a very sharp serrated knife, slice the frozen bread as thinly as possible, aiming for 1/16” to 1/4” thick slices.
- Prepare for Baking: Arrange the paper-thin slices on a cookie sheet in a single layer.
- Baste: Baste both sides of each bread slice with the melted margarine.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle a generous layer of grated Parmesan cheese on the top side of each slice.
- Bake: Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. The toasts are done when they are golden, completely dry, and crisp.
- Store: Let the toasts cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
