| 2 tablespoons | Brown Sugar |
| 1 teaspoon | Baking Powder |
| 1/2 teaspoon | Baking Soda |
| 1/4 teaspoon | Salt |
| 3 tablespoons | Butter or Margarine, cold |
| 2 | Eggs |

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a round cake pan or a small cast-iron skillet.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter or margarine using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, lightly beat the eggs, then whisk in the buttermilk.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir with a fork until a soft dough forms.
- Gently fold in the raisins.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 30 seconds, just until it comes together.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in the prepared pan.
- With a sharp knife, cut a cross about a half-inch deep on the top of the loaf.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the loaf is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
