MeasurementsIngredients
6Eggs, Separated
2 ½ cupsPowdered Sugar (or Honey)
PinchCream of Tartar
½ tspCinnamon
½ tspAllspice
¼ tspCloves

Instructions

Batter

  1. Separate the eggs. In a large, clean bowl, begin beating the egg whites with an electric mixer.
  2. When the whites become frothy, add a pinch of cream of tartar.
  3. Continue beating until soft peaks form, then gradually add the powdered sugar. Beat until the meringue is stiff and glossy.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks until they are thick and lemon-colored (this can take 5-10 minutes).
  5. Gently fold the beaten egg yolks into the stiff egg white mixture.
  6. Fold in the spices (cinnamon, allspice, and cloves), being generous with your measurements as the card suggests.

To Serve

  1. For each drink, place two heaping tablespoons (or less, to taste) of the Tom and Jerry batter into a mug.
  2. Add one jigger (1.5 ounces) of brandy.
  3. Fill the rest of the mug with warm/hot milk, stirring constantly as you pour to dissolve the batter.
  4. Sprinkle the top of each drink with nutmeg and serve immediately.
