A very simple two-ingredient cocktail from a recipe by Phil. This drink, called a Tom Collins, is a classic Rum Sour made with rum and sweet & sour mix, served on the rocks or blended as a daiquiri.

1 shot (1.5 oz)Rum
4-5 oz, to tasteSweet & Sour Mix
2Ice Cubes (for on the rocks)
1 cupCrushed Ice (for blended)
Garnish (Optional)
1 slicePineapple Slice
1Cherry

Instructions

On the Rocks

  1. Place two large ice cubes in a highball or Collins glass.
  2. Pour one shot (1.5 ounces) of rum over the ice.
  3. Fill the remainder of the glass with sweet & sour mix.
  4. Stir gently and garnish with a pineapple slice or a cherry, if desired.

Daiquiri Style (Blended)

  1. In a blender, combine one shot of rum, 4-5 ounces of sweet & sour mix, and about a cup of crushed ice.
  2. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and slushy.
  3. Pour into a glass and garnish if you like.

Note

This recipe is titled “Tom Collins,” but its ingredients make it a classic Rum Sour. A traditional Tom Collins is made with gin, lemon juice, sugar, and club soda.
